Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information MistyMC Network collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights. We try to keep this short and plain.

1. What we collect

Information you provide

• Your Minecraft username (IGN) when you connect to play.mistymc.xyz.
• Your Minecraft UUID (a unique account identifier provided by Mojang).
• Chat messages and command usage on the Minecraft server.
• Information you submit in staff applications or support tickets.
• Discord ID if you link your Minecraft account to Discord.

Information collected automatically

• Your IP address (used for moderation, anti-cheat, and ban enforcement).
• Connection timestamps, gameplay session length, and gamemode usage.
• Anti-cheat telemetry (movement, combat events) for the duration of a session.
• Anonymous, aggregated analytics on the website (page views, referrers, browser type).

Information from third parties

• Payment confirmations from Tebex (our store provider). We don't see your card details.
• Vote confirmations from voting sites you use.

2. Why we collect it

• To run the Service and let you play with persistent stats, claims, and progress.
• To enforce our rules and fight cheating.
• To process purchases and deliver in-game items.
• To respond to support tickets, ban appeals, and reports.
• To improve the network's performance and design.

3. How long we keep it

• Game data (stats, claims, inventory) — retained as long as the account is active. Inactive accounts are pruned after 24 months.
• Chat & moderation logs — 12 months.
• Anti-cheat telemetry — 30 days, except cases under active review.
• IP addresses — 12 months for active accounts; longer where required for ban enforcement.
• Purchase records — 7 years (tax / accounting).
• Support ticket transcripts — 24 months.

4. Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. Limited sharing happens with:

• Tebex — to process store purchases.
• Mojang / Microsoft — for username/UUID lookups (already public).
• Cloudflare — site delivery, DDoS protection, and basic analytics.
• Discord — when you link your account or join the official server.
• Law enforcement — only when legally required and with valid process.

5. Cookies and storage

The website uses minimal cookies and sessionStorage for things like caching the live player count and remembering your theme preference. See /legal/cookies.

6. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact legal@mistymc.xyz and we'll delete it.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correct — fix inaccurate data.
• Delete — ask us to erase your data (subject to legal retention).
• Object / restrict — limit how we process your data.
• Portability — get your data in a portable format.

8. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: TLS for all network traffic, encrypted backups, least-privilege access, and audit logs for staff actions. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password on your Minecraft account.

9. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own (notably where our hosting and Tebex are located). We rely on standard safeguards for international transfers.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Effective" date above shows the current version. Material changes will be announced in #announcements on Discord.
