The world

Where the fog never quite lifts.

Long before the first server tick, the mist rolled in.

It came from the western seas in a single afternoon, soft and fast, like someone exhaling onto a window. By dusk it had crossed the mountains. By midnight it had buried the kingdoms. By morning, the maps no longer matched the land.

Where it settled, the world changed. Hills lifted from the earth and stayed there, suspended in nothing. Rivers ran backwards into the sky. Trees grew leaves the color of frost. The compass — and you may know this if you've ever spent a night out alone — stopped pointing north.

What the mist brought

Adventurers arrived first, drawn by stories of buried gold and stranded ships. They left with stranger things: armor that hummed, swords that found their own targets, kits that fit too well. Some came back. Some didn't.

Then came the duelers. Word had spread that the mist remembered fights. That a clean win on a misty island would be retold a thousand years later, by people who weren't born yet, in languages nobody had invented. The duelers didn't believe it. They came anyway.

The builders followed the duelers. The shopkeepers followed the builders. The friends followed the shopkeepers. Eventually, somewhere between the iron generators and the soup arenas, a network formed.

The unbroken survival

The Survival world has not been reset since the day it began. People sometimes ask why.

We say: the mist remembers. The reset is a betrayal. We won't do it.

What we mean is: there are bases out there older than most of the players' Minecraft accounts. Forgotten castles in the cold, owned by names nobody has heard from in two years. Half-finished spawn shops with the original price signs still up. A lighthouse on a cliff west of spawn that the original builder named after their cat.

You walk past these things and you remember that something existed before you arrived. That's the texture of MistyMC. We don't write it. The players do.

The six gamemodes

The mist holds six paths. None of them is the right one.

  • Bot Practice is the practice room. The fog drifts here too, but the bots don't notice.
  • Modern Practice is the dueling road. ELO is just the mist's way of keeping score.
  • BedWars is the war for sleep. To break someone's bed is to make them keep going.
  • Build FFA is the architects' fight. Walls go up, walls come down. Nobody wins forever.
  • Soup PvP is the old way. Mushroom soup, swords, and the rhythm of a metronome you can't quite hear.
  • Survival is the slow path. The one nobody finishes. The one nobody is supposed to.

What we promise

We promise the mist will still be here tomorrow.

We promise we won't reset Survival to chase a trend.

We promise the store will never sell god gear.

We promise we'll listen — slowly, sometimes, but we'll listen.

The IP is play.mistymc.xyz. The mist is patient. We are too.
