Survival Land Claims

How GriefPrevention claims work in MistyMC Survival — claiming, expanding, trusting, and what happens when you abandon a claim.

# survival# claims# griefprevention

The Survival world uses GriefPrevention for land protection. Claims are free, easy to set up, and the only thing standing between your build and the next stranger.

Claim blocks

Every player starts with 100 claim blocks. You earn +10 claim blocks per 10 minutes online, up to a cap of 5,000 (rank-dependent).

A claim block represents 1 m² of protection. A 16×16 chunk needs 256 blocks.

Creating a claim

  1. Get a golden shovel from /kit basic (free, daily) or craft one
  2. Right-click the first corner of the area you want to claim
  3. Right-click the opposite corner
  4. Glowstone particles outline your new claim

If you don’t have enough claim blocks, the claim creates as small as it can with what you have.

Expanding a claim

To expand:

  1. Hold the golden shovel
  2. Right-click any corner of an existing claim
  3. Walk to a new position outside the original claim
  4. Right-click again

Cost = blocks needed to cover the new area.

Trusting players

CommandWhat it does
/trust <player>Full trust — can build, break, open chests
/containertrust <player>Open chests only
/accesstrust <player>Open doors and use buttons
/permissiontrust <player>Trust other players on your behalf
/untrust <player>Remove trust
/trustlistSee who’s trusted in the current claim

Trust applies to the claim you’re standing in. To set trust globally across all your claims, use /trust <player> all.

Subdivisions

You can split a claim into smaller permission zones. Useful for letting friends use part of your base.

  1. Stand in your claim
  2. /subdivideclaims — switches the shovel to subdivision mode
  3. Right-click two corners inside your claim to mark a subzone
  4. Trust whoever you want in that subzone with /trust
  5. /basicclaims to switch the shovel back to normal mode

Abandoning

/abandonclaim while standing in a claim returns its blocks to your pool. The protection is removed, the build is not — anyone can come in and modify it after.

Inactive claims (player offline 60 days) are flagged for cleanup. After 90 days, they auto-abandon. Frost-rank claims are exempt from auto-cleanup.

Disputes

Don’t grief unclaimed builds. Don’t trap-claim near someone’s base entrance. Don’t auto-trust strangers who ask. Disputes are resolved by staff via /report.
